Overview

Global Protocols - The World Leader in Wireless Network Performance Enhancement

Global Protocols wireless solutions offer a robust feature set and a series of extensions to standard Internet protocols that, when installed on a network device, maximize link utilization and reliability in a stressed transmission environment. Developed in Global Protocols, Inc. labs by leading specialists in the field of stressed networking and protocol engineering, our solutions have been applied to satellite, terrestrial wireless, mobile wireless telemetry, and hybrid networks where the operational and environmental rigors of wireless degrade network performance.

Global Protocols' Solutions Provide:

1. Performance

Our solutions accelerate IP throughput over a geosynchronous satellite by a minimum of 17x the rate of standard TCP. Improvement ratios increase significantly when run over errored and asymmetric links. Performance gains vary in terrestrial and near-earth wireless applications, depending on environmental and operational network conditions.

2. Efficiency

SkipWare® and SCPS-M protocols achieve bandwidth efficiencies in excess of 90%, before payload compression.

3. Cost

Much of the development costs for our technology were funded by federal and military sponsors, so there are no sunk R&D costs to recover through inflated licensing fees.

4. Simplicity

Because SkipWare® and SCPS-M are designed to operate in a gateway model, it is not necessary to deploy them on every remote client machine. A single gateway serves the entire LAN, allowing for simple, unobtrusive integration into the network. Smart congestion controls and transparent bridging features make these protocols true plug-and-play technologies.

5. Interoperability

SkipWare and SCPS-M are designed to interoperate with other common networking protocols, including TCP, DVB and SCPS-TP. Unlike competing technologies, our protocols do not "take over" your wireless network, and do not require pairwise deployment. It can be selectively deployed into the network as budget and operational needs dictate.

6. Maintainability

Because SkipWare and SCPS-M are based on IETF-standard TCP, all community experience and diagnostic tools associated with TCP can be also applied to SkipWare. This eliminates dependence on high-cost proprietary product support.

7. Portability

SkipWare and SCPS-M are available on multiple operating systems and can be installed on virtually any network device with sufficient resources to support the required network throughput.

8. Open Source

SkipWare and SCPS-M are based on the open-source SCPS-TP reference code, so users are not obligated to a single vendor for support and follow-on development.

9. International Standard

SkipWare complies with the ISO, CCSDS, and DoD Mil-Std standards for data transport.

10. Install Base

SkipWare and SCPS-M are the most broadly deployed SCPS implementations in the US military. They have been standardized on by many of the DoD's largest tactical and fixed strategic networks, including the US Army JNN and DISA STEP and Teleport systems.
